A global network of connected computers.
Start with the idea
The internet is a worldwide network that connects billions of devices. Data travels between them in small pieces called packets.
Each device has an address called an IP address, which works like a home address for sending and receiving data.
The internet is not the same as the World Wide Web. The web is just one service that runs on top of the internet, alongside email and file sharing.
